Dating Sites

I guess it depends on what you are looking for and how much time you're willing to invest. I was on match for 3 months, and never even met anyone I was interested in talking to, but I have heard from other people who swear by it. One gal was on it for a whole year and now she's making wedding plans. I'm on Nerve (which is also fed by Salon and Onion ads), but I don't think it's a LTR kind of place (although the 2nd guy I met on there and dated, ended up dumping me for another girl he met on there and they are about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary this September!). But I have dated 2 guys I met on the site. It also depends on the city you're in. Chicago is still catching up to the whole dating online thing. Boston might be different. I guess, bottom line, it's a crapshoot!
I'm on OKCupid, but mostly because it's completely free. The questions they ask, and there are thousands (you take them at your leisure), are mainly user-submitted and range from serious and thought-provoking to downright kinky (Example: Do you enjoy gagging girls? WTF). I've met a few guys there...no meetings yet, but we have really great conversations. Intelligent ones, for God's sake. That's a big deal! I'm pretty satisfied with the site.
I've been on match for quite some time. For me, it's the easiest and most affordable and at the same time weeds out all the losers that can't pay for a subscription. There's still a lot of weeding you have to do, but it's much better than free sites or Lavalife (that one was awful, talk about creepy dudes). I tried Chemistry for a while, but it was too long of a process... it's kind of like eHarmony where you have to answer questions and then they send you matches based on your personality. Anyway, at the end of it all, I went back to Match. It's pretty popular, so for me there's always someone to look at.
